Maximuscle's ready-to-drink protein shake, Maxi-Milk, is to be made available in more than 1,000 gyms across the UK from September.
Maximuscle, the UK and Europe's leading sports nutrition brand, created Maxi-Milk for active people wanting to optimise their training by supporting lean muscle growth and enabling faster and more effective recovery.
Now consumers will be able to purchase the high protein shake in a convenient location immediately after their workout.
After a successful trial, Maximuscle marketing director James O'Shea has announced that Maxi-Milk is soon to be available in vending machines.
He said: "This is a big step forward for Maximuscle. We will be able to get the product into the hands of many more customers, who perhaps weren't aware of, or hadn't tried Maxi-Milk before."
Maxi-Milk is a high-quality shake that has a protein and carbohydrate blend, enriched with whey making it perfect for both muscle growth and recovery.
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) acquired Maximuscle, part of Maxinutrition Group Holdings, in December 2010 for £162m. O'Shea believes the deal demonstrates some of the positive effects that the pharmaceutical business has made on the brand since the acquisition.
He added: "Being a part of GSK has opened up some fantastic opportunities for Maximuscle. This significant development for the brand illustrates the progression of sports nutrition into the mainstream area."
