The speed of the destination film self-adjusts as the runner slows or quickens their pace A new innovation will allow users of Running Unlimited’s Zone dome to experience moving scenery at a speed to match their running pace. The treadmill integration technology has been launched at IHRSA 2015.
The Zone dome incorporates surround vision technology to immerse indoor runners in HD films via a dome screen the width of a treadmill.
The new technology is being showcased at IHRSA using specialist treadmill manufacturer Woodway’s motorless and manual device, The Curve. It can however integrate with any treadmill.
Running Unlimited said the aim was to deliver a seamless journey for runners, with the speed of the destination film self-adjusting as the runner slows or quickens their pace.
New destination films are currently being added to the library, with a number of European cities currently “in the editing suite”.
