Visitors got to try out cutting-edge innovations including flying theatres, dark ride systems, and virtual reality offerings
Flying theatres, dark ride systems, interactive solutions and immersive 3D cinemas – these are the cutting edge products that dominated the agenda at this year's Euro Attraction Show (EAS).
As the trend for immersive experiences continues, Attractions Management saw exhibitors showcase an array of technology at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre in Germany last week, as well as new ticketing systems, food and beverage offerings, theming solutions and safety products.
Other major talking points included digital safety, profit and revenue, and safety and security.
“EAS 2017 has been a great experience for the attendees, the exhibitors and IAAPA," said Paul Noland, president and CEO of organisers IAAPA.
“The attractions industry is strong and growing in the EMEA region. That growth combined with the opportunity to see the latest innovations, learn from industry leaders, and experience all that Berlin has to offer worked together to create these great results.”
In addition to the event's tradeshow, which covered more than 12,000sq m (130,000sq ft), EAS also featured an extensive education programme, with a list of speakers including Christoph Kiessling from the Loro Parque Group, Andreas Leicht from Hansa-Park, Martin Kring from Legoland Deutschland and Bas Bakkers from The Coca-Cola Company.
Some of the world's biggest operators were in attendance, with representatives from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Merlin Entertainments among those in attendance. Regionally, delegates from some of Germany's top amusement parks attended, including those from Fort Fun and Hansa-Park.
IAAPA hailed this year's show as a "big success", with preliminary estimates indicating that more than 12,400 visitors from over 100 countries.
EAS 2018 will take place between 25 and 27 September at the RAI in Amsterdam, Holland.
